Hound / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Jake the Dog needs a home

Jake is a wonderful, laid back but playful boy! He is around 4 yrs old. Great with other dogs. Good with older kids and is really hoping to find a little boy of his own, maybe between 7-12 yrs old to be his best friend! Doesn't pay any attention to cats. He is HW negative, has had his vaccines and rabies, is neutered and micro chipped. Crate/potty trained. He really needs a home with another dog he can bond with! The two pictures are of Jake with Sasha. The two have become very bonded. Sasha however was recently approved to be a veterans PTSD service dog. Jake would do best on a farm or in a home in the country as he loves being outside when it's nice out and will play "catch me" games if he's not ready to come in. Other than that he is great off leash! Good with horses as well. He was a stray for several months before ending up a a high kill shelter in KY. Had become very depressed and shut down at the shelter. His personality has really come out and he is going to make some family a VERY nice companion!!! Learning some basics, loves car rides and being out in public. Everyone at Petsmart loves him! He was pretty thin but is putting weight on nicely. Jake is good on a leash and does not pull. Looking for a home with children. He also loves puppies!!! The video is of Jake with a couple of new rescue puppies on their road trip back to MN. Adoption fee $300
